爵士樂界中最具代表性的男聲，也由於他曼妙的歌聲掩蓋了他也是一位優秀鋼琴師的才華；Nat King Cole本名Nathaniel Adams Cole，出生於爵士世家，40年代初期，用心組合了鋼琴、吉他、貝斯的Trio-3重奏，影響了當時Bop樂風的發展，同時也展露出他歌唱的才華。
1936年開始了錄製唱片的工作，50年代，由於歌聲受到注意，唱片公司皆邀約他發行歌唱專輯，尤其中、慢版的情歌更是受到市場的好評。雖然是爵士歌手，他的唱片普遍受到流行市場的歡迎，1957年的“Love Is The Thing”及1969年的“The Christmas Song”皆榮獲專輯冠軍，並於1959年拿下了葛萊美獎，在60年代的暢銷單曲數量，並不亞於最當紅的英國樂團The Beatles。1965年時因肺癌而病逝，享年僅46歲，令樂壇無限惋惜不已。
美好的歌聲，總是伴隨著我們進入浪漫氣息的愛情世界，Nat King Cole的爵士情歌，更是令人難以忘懷，所以不斷地有電影、配樂引用他那珍貴的歌聲，帶來最美的感動。
